Farmhouse 2001 a.jpg

Obi Obi Homestead is a working cattle property offering  farmhouse accommodation in the picturesque Obi Obi Valley on Queensland's Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Managing property owners & hosts, Tony & Joy, welcome guests  with a down to earth country attitude
The 3 bedroom cottage originally owned by the Kirby family,  was built around 1940. Tony & Joy purchased the property in 2001 for the  many special features the property had to offer. It's geographical combination of hills, rocky crops, creek flats, tall timbers, pockets of rainforest & flowing water source were all important & appealing.
The farmhouse became home to them & their 3 children who were fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by space, freedom & adventure. The children learnt to drive in 'paddock bombs' (old cars that could cop a bit of bumping in the paddocks).
Motor bikes, quad bikes, buggies, horses, cattle, chickens, guinea fowl, fish, sheep, birds, dogs & cats have all been part of the scene at some stage on the farm.
The original cottage has undergone numerous facelifts over the years to accommodate the growing needs of the family.
At this stage, the farmhouse stands to accommodate up to 17 guests in 7 bedrooms with a variety of features & configurations.

It can be rented as an entire farmhouse for a group, or as a guesthouse with individual secured rooms (this works particularly well for people attending the same event or function in the area).
Should you require assistance with any aspect of the farmhouse during your stay, Joy & Tony are conveniently located in a private cottage on the farm.

Projects of various descriptions are a constant part of farm life. So for the safety of guests, access to any areas outside the immediate farmhouse grounds are strictly by prior approval.

However, Tony & Joy are happy to show  guests  some of the special areas on the farm where they can enjoy bush walking, swimming, snorkeling,  bird watching, or  just being in nature. Guests are welcome to bring kayaks for a relaxing paddle or adventure in the Obi Obi Creek.
Obi Obi Creek, Kondalilla Falls National Park & Kirbys Rd Environment park all border Obi Obi Homestead. So there's a chance guests may spot some rare & endangered species such as koala, Mary River Cod, platypus, Mary River turtle & lung fish among wallabies, echidna, & many other native species

Joy can arrange meal hampers, special occasion treats, like flowers, bubbles, in-house massage & other relaxing treatments for guests. Tony, the builder, farmer & general 'fix it' man, will often be seen tending to farming requirements & is also happy to assist guests needs.
There are some exciting projects planned for Obi Obi Homestead which will continue to evolve & contribute to the property & guests experience.
Obi Obi Homestead is a beautiful haven to reconnect with nature & let the stress of everyday life melt away.
